3) Lao Tzu Shao Dan      (Old sage cultivates his pearl) Explanation a) Following on from the Opening the vessels exercise circle your hands up again and bring the palms into a lotus flower in front of your chest. (palms facing each other ,like holding a small ball ,fingers not touching) b) Now breathe out very slowly and draw the thumbs down so that the tips of the thumbs are pointing towards each other, (don't let them touch) pause breathe in then out then bring the thumbs back up on the next in breath, feel for the Qi between them when they are pointing towards each other, do this once.
c) Now breathe out very slowly again and draw the middle fingers down, tips of the fingers pointing towards each other, pause, breathe in then out then move it up breathing in, pause, then repeat the same movement and breathing sequence three times. Follow the sequence described below for the remaining fingers. Thumb Once Middle finger Three times Little finger Five times Index finger Seven times Ring finger Nine times c) After completing this sequence spend some time pressing the palms in and out (not touching) and feel the Qi that this exercise has created between the hands. d) Perform whole sequence once only
