5. Stomach Qigong massage Explanation 1) Do the starting forms. (The relaxed & quiescent form in standing position, The three deep exhaling & inhaling form, and The three opening & closing form.) 2) Stomach Massage: For males, put the left hand on the Zhongwan Point (REN 12) and put the right hand on top. For females put the right hand on the Zhongwan Point and left hand on top 3) Massage twelve circles leftward (top to bottom) and massage another twelve circles rightward 4) Then do "point respiration' with the mind concentrated on the Zhongwan Point 5) Do this massage three times 6) Do the ending forms. Functions For thoracic depression, abdominal distension, gastric ulcers & gastritis. In TCM this exercise increases the ripening & rotting function of the Stomach The Stomach is responsible for receiving and holding food and functions to digest food, so the mind should be concentrated in such a way as to make the stomach feel a sense of warmth.
