6. Kidney Qigong massage

 Explanation

1) Do the starting forms. (The relaxed & quiescent form,

The three deep exhaling & inhaling form, and The three

opening & closing form.) In either the standing or sitting position

2) Rub the hands up and down the back 12 times to warm it up.

3) Place the tips of the middle fingers of each hand on the two Shen shu points

4) Massage inwards 24 times then outwards 24 times.

5) Do “Point respiration� 3 times with your mind concentrated on the Kidneys.

6) Move the hands around to the front and perform the three opening & closing form.)

7) Do this massage three times

8) Do the ending forms. (The three opening & closing form, The three deep exhaling & inhaling form, and The relaxed & quiescent form) In either standing or sitting position.

Functions

In TCM the Kidneys are the foundation of fire and water in the body,

This exercise aids in the balancing of the Yin and Yang of the body, and also

regulates the fire and water in the body.
