Stance and Breathing
(Beginners level)
This lesson will help you learn a basic stance that will help to create a good body alignment ,this will give you maximum benefit from Qigong exercises. Also ths lesson will explain a basic breathing technique used in Qigong exercises
One of the most important things in Qigong is your stance.
First start with feet placement.
1) It is called the Horse Stance
a) Feet one foot width apart
b) Feet parallel to the front
c) Knees above toes
d) Knees slightly bent
c) Heels touching ground but have no weight on them. Stand on balls of the feet, on the
Kidney 1 point (Youg quan), stand on your muscles not your bones.
2) Keep your Back as straight as possible
3) Hold your Head as though there is a string attached to the top of it and it is suspended from heaven. Keep will keep your head and spine straight
Basic Qigong breathing
The most widely used Basic breathing is called Abdominal Breathing
1) To breath out, pull stomach muscles in, raising diaphragm expelling all the air. Then naturally let the stomach muscles relax this will lower the diaphragm and let the air will be sucked into the lungs for the in breathe.
