A major part of the Forest Rock Trusts vision, is to purchase, own and operate an inner city Taiji, Qigong training facility.
This building will include a training hall, kitchen, bathroom, changing rooms and Acupuncture clinic rooms. (The School currently rents rooms to conduct its classes and workshops in Auckland at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.)
Your Donation will help the Trust purchase its own facilities, and help create a centre which will resemble an Monastery building design. It will be built and constructed using materials similar to a Traditional Chinese Taiji Training hall.
The Forest Rock Taiji and Qigong has never had its own building/home in New Zealand before.
In this first stage of the Building Plans, we want to renovate or build an Inner City Training Hall where we can carry on the Traditions of the School; a place to practice the art of Taiji and a place to continue the education and teachings of the Monastery based school - an ‘Inner city Sanctuary’.
The interior design of the Taiji and Qigong training hall. Will be constructed with bamboo rafters, woven cane walls, rice paper screens, columns and a hard wood floor. It has been architecturally designed by an architect who is a member of the school, incorporating sacred geometry in the tradition of Feng Shui and the Eight Directions.
There will be an Alter to sit the ‘Staff of Law’ upon, (a symbol of the school philosophy and teachings) and Chinese calligraphy scrolls, with the School’s name and philosophy on them hung on the walls.
This will be the School’s Spiritual haven in the inner city.
The second and final stage of the Building Plans for the Trust, is to purchase, own and operate a Retreat Centre on the East coast (Coromandel area) of the North Island, New Zealand. Away from the hustle and bustle of the City life.
The first part of your donations will go to the ‘Building Fund’ to complete the Inner City Monastery Sanctuary, and part will go to the Trust to help our supported Charities.
Once completed part one of the building plan, part of the funds raised will go to the second stage of the building project, and the rest towards helping the Elderly, Youth at risk, Underprivileged Children, and any member of the Monastery community in need of assistance.
The Costal Retreat Centre
The Retreat Centre will be available for hire by other similar groups, to conduct courses and workshops, with a focus of helping and educating people.
The location of the Centre will be on the East Coast of New Zealand with a preference for the Coromandel area. The reason for the east coast location is that the east coast is more yin (passive) and restful, than the energy of the west.
The sun rises in the east, symbolizing the start of the new day and this being symbolic of the retreats purpose of new beginnings, new learning, and new experiences.
As mentioned, Forest Rock Taiji and Qigong Monastery School Charitable Trust's vision is to develop a Costal Retreat Centre in which the Trust will run weekend Workshops, Courses and Week long Retreats. This Retreat Centre would allow people to get away from their busy and stressful lives and the turbulent energy of the city. It will give people an opportunity to relax and experience quietness and stillness. It will be a place for reflection, a place for inner work and a place of discovery.
It is the vision of the Trust to have it’s own Spiritual Sanctuaries, not only in the inner city, but to have a Retreat Centre in the peace and quite of Nature.
